So much going on. I
had breakfast in al Baccio and then grabbed a seat at Dr. Peter’s talk about
A Life on an Icebreaker. He was on
several tours for scientific research as a young man. It was quite interesting. I had six seats secured because I knew Mickey
Live would be beyond a sellout. It
was. I spotted Linda when she came in
and someone guarded the seats for me while I went to get her. She saw Gary and Sue Ann looking for seats
and finally Fred. Anna wasn’t there but
I guess she had found a seat on her own.
I was excited that the second Snapshot Rally photo he showed
was mine of Iguazu from the Brazilian side.
My Recoleta picture also made the cut for the final program. They were two of about eighty he showed on
the big screen. The slide show included
his own photos and those of his friend the wildlife photographer. He also included some from past trips so I
felt quite honored. It was a GREAT
FINISH OF HIS program and he reminded us to pick up our USB cards if we ordered
them. They are available on our last
night, tomorrow!
He was immediately followed by Alejandro talking about Argentina. Gary and Sue Ann stayed and we really
laughed. Alejandro is very funny when he
brags about his homeland. But he also
gave very good information and a good explanation of the Falklands War. He also warned not to joke about it.
Yea, right, Aljehandsome. These are your ex-girlfriends!
Recommended movie, I will have to watch it.
When he was done it was already lunch time. Apparently there was a dessert extravaganza
that I did not know about but that is okay.
The desserts on this ship are great and I think that was later on when I
had already gone to Trivia. One last
game and then a raffle drawing for any awarded tickets. I didn’t win but I don’t think I can fit even
one more freebie in my suitcases!
Three o’clock was the Alejandro, Mickey, and Captain Michael
show. It was really a way for Captain
Michael to feel comfortable answering questions from the audience and, of
course, more Argentina bragging. But he
does it in such a good spirited way that it is just funny. Mickey showed a series of slides quickly so
it was like a movie. This time it was
just about 25 and one of mine was in it!
Funny since the ones I submitted were taken with my cracked up Galaxy 7
Edge! A lot of people not only had good
cameras but extra good long lens!
I had a few minutes to write before taking our champagne
(sparkling wine) down to dinner. Anna
joined us but left before dessert to make the 7:00 show. Our waitress always wants her to take dessert
with and then when Anna says no thank you, she offers to send it to the room. The rest of us stay and chat and don’t rush
out. I wouldn’t be surprised if there
was no second seating at our table by the time we leave and they can reset.
We opted for cards in the Oceanview Café since every time we
are playing in the card room you have to shout to be heard over the atrium
music. Should have made this choice sooner but then we would have missed a lot of wonky stuff. Like the old Chinese man who cleared his nasal passages repeatedly and finally spit what he found into the waste basket next to us! Or the kids that put all their dishes piled up next to the sign that read 'Do Not Bring Food and Drinks Into the Card Room.' They laughed and scooted away! Today was very, very much fun and
low key. Beautiful, warm sunshine and
fond farewells.
