As I warned you, I am now on the longest flight ever. Eleven hours into it and still five to
go! This has been, by far, the roughest
flight as well. The seat belt sign was
lighted nearly the whole way. And the selected entertainment on our personal screens was
interrupted repeated by the captain’s announcement to remain seated. At least
my entertainment was because even though I took two Tylenol PM after dinner I
could not get comfortable enough to sleep.
I hope someday I might fly First Class in one of those beddettes those passengers
must surely enjoy.
Perhaps it is extra turbulent because we flew over the ocean
at the narrowest point of the Atlantic,
where the continents used to connect -
the Easterly bump of South America and the Westerly bump of West Africa.. It was dark out most all the way but when he
sun began to give some ambient light on the clouds below it surely looked as
though we were flying over a Hurricane.
There was a definite counterclockwise swirl to the clouds around a clear
center through which you could see the deep blue of the deepest ocean.
I am pausing now because this is a bad idea. Too rough to even hope to type correctly. The
Asus keeps sliding out of control. More
later and back to watching every episode of Ray Donovan.
It is now 8:30 PM and I have been awake for 32 hours! So just so you know we are safe and sound and
staying at the beautiful Hotel Protea Tambo O.R. We skipped dinner but did sit in the soft
light of the beautiful pool for a while.

Me just being happy to have arrived safely! |
We had no problem meeting our group and have a beautiful
room with one unique feature. We have
reorganized our stuff and set out at 9:30am, after breakfast at the hotel. We fly by small plane to Karongwe National
Park. Maybe by then I will have
recovered enough to share all my usual details!
Pretty room with separate beds, nice shower, and a toilet closet! |
