Today Elva and I hung out for a quiet morning. I was tempted to take the shuttle to the airport to stop at a few shops and just walk around but we stuck to our original plan and 'stayed home.' We reorganized our bags for the journey that begins tomorrow. Met Mark, the guide, and Sue a guide in training. They are the logistical team.
Had lunch at 1:15 with the rest of the group. There are only 13 on this trip so we are very lucky that it all came together and is going forward. The buffet lunch in the hotel was good.
We checked out and back in in order to shift the cost to Road Scholar but our room was never made up at all until 3:30 this afternoon. For awhile I sat in the lobby to write so Elva could nap. But soon she joined me because they were now going to make the beds!
At 5:00 we had our 'team meeting.' Everyone seems nice and very interesting. Two of the ladies have been guides or still are guides for other companies. There are only two men. I win the number of kids contest but lose in the grand children side. The rules of the road were laid out. There are some schedule changes so I will have to keep my cousin Lynda up to date as she is meeting us toward the end of the tour. This is a cousin I have never met. She is Jack's niece. She lives quite near where we will be on Day 7 which is conveniently on May 7!
Tomorrow we will set out, wheels roll at 8:30! Bags out at 8:00 am. Glad they do not go out tonight. Much easier to add stuff in the morning. So we plan breakfast at 7:00. Everyone introduced themselves and told a bit about themselves. We have whisperers! Yea! We sure needed them on the Celebrity ship tours!
Dinner was a delicious buffet and they cracked out the sparkling water. Salmon, chicken, salad, mixed fruit, and Tiramisu. It was a very good one, not to chocolate and not too coffeeish!. Lunch desserts were oddly enough all chocolates.
Totally creamy deliciousness!
We visited with our new soon to be friends and Elva tucked in by 8:00! I have caught you up to date and the new adventure starts in about 9 hours!
